A wonderful fennel salame from Tuscany also known as Finocchiona. This superb delicacy is made from a traditional recipe using selected Italian pork meat, ground with a variety of Mediterranean herbs and seasoned with wild fennel seeds.
Pleasantly aromatic, this salae is ideal to enjoy with some good bread and a glass of excellent Tuscan red wine.
Legend has it that Finocchiona owes its name to a theif at a fair near the town of Prato, who stole a fresh salame and hid it in a stand of wild fennel. When he returned for it, he found it had absorbed the aromas of its hiding place.
